Virtual Academic Language (Dyslexia) Practitioner Training

Learning Solutions is offering Academic Language and Dyslexia Practitioner Training to the virtual classroom.

Pathways to Certification and Advanced Training

Certified Academic Language Practitioners receive specialized training in dyslexia intervention. To earn certification through ALTA, a CALP must complete:

​

  • A minimum of 45 hours of graduate-level coursework

  • A minimum of 60 hours of supervised practicum

  • A minimum of 5 demonstration lessons

  • A passing score on The National ALTA Certification Practitioner Examination

​

CALPs play an important role in providing teacher-level instruction and intervention within educational settings. They contribute significantly to the education and support of students with dyslexia, using their expertise to improve student outcomes.

​

In our Practitioner Level Training, you will receive over 80 hours of instruction over the course of one year from an ALTA-credentialed Qualified Instructor. Instruction is based on the highly acclaimed JET curriculum, developed by the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas.

This course not only meets but far exceeds ALTA’s requirements for Practitioner-level certification. All training is delivered live via Zoom, allowing you to receive high-quality, interactive instruction from wherever you are.

​

Costs:  1 yr of instruction and support $2000

             Complete Jet kit from Scottish Rite $750 + interactive

             software (optional) $50

             Books, and other materials average $500
