Executive functioning is a set of cognitive skills that help us plan, organize, prioritize, and execute tasks.
It is also responsible for our ability to regulate our emotions, control our impulses, and make decisions. Executive functioning skills are essential for success in school, work, and personal life. We us a combination of activities to increase skills such as planning, organization, time management, self control, working memory, flexibility, metacognition and attention.
Executive Function Skills

Our writer's workshop is a framework for teaching writing that puts the student at the center. Skills are chosen based on the student's level and needs.
Classes could begin as basic as grammar and sentence structure and progress through paragraph, essay and story writing. Writers are encouraged to learn and practice cursive handwriting but as all students are different, we also use various speech to print devices. or assist with keyboarding skills.
Writing Workshop

Reading comprehension is a cognitive process that integrates complex skills while examining the critical role of vocabulary learning and instruction and its development. We expand on basic comprehension skills that according to the National Reading Panel are most effective for teaching comprehension through explicit instruction. This includes metacognition, graphic and semantic organizers, story structure, question asking and answering, and summarizing.
Advanced Comprehension
Each class or a combination of classes is offered at $75 per hour or $40 for 30 minute sessions.
