Of all the suffixes I teach my students, suffix ed is the trickiest. Thats understandable because there are 3 ways to read it. So that means 3 different rules to learn. Hopefully this image will help keep it straight.

Learning to read for many dyslexic children is much more than memorizing words. They must be able to understand the relationship between sounds and letters, learn graphemes, be able to distinguish separate syllables within the word, and break apart morphemes. This is a great graphic to show these differences.
